‘Chicago PD’ spin-off ‘Chicago Justice’ lands ‘Justified’ star Joelle Carter

NBCWell, the upcoming potential “Chicago PD” spin-off “Chicago Justice” (formerly “Chicago Law”) just got infinitely more interesting in our eyes.

According to a report from Deadline, Joelle Carter of “Justified” fame (she played Ava Carter over on the FX series) has been cast alongside Philip Winchester and Nazneen Contractor in the potential show, which will be planted near the end of the police show’s current third season. Her character is Lori Nagle, who is an investigator known for being extremely tough and effective.

While we do not know sure if this series ends up coming on the air over the course of the next season, we do think that this is a worthy casting. What we do really like about getting Carter on board here is that she is a stellar actress, and someone who is coming on board here with a rather substantial following already. This gives us a little more dimension to the series, and it also gives some fans a reason to tune in who may not have otherwise.

Given that there are only a small handful of names cast for “Chicago Justice” at the moment, we should have some more over the course of the days / weeks ahead. Our advice for now is to stay tuned, since we’re going to have some more about these additions over the course of the weeks ahead. Hopefully by the time this episode actually airs, we have a good idea as to whether or not it is going to be picked up.
