Is ‘Madam Secretary’ season 2, episode 17 new tonight on CBS? Jane Pauley to guest

For this particular “Madam Secretary” article, we are presenting what is definitely a case of good news and bad.

Where do we begin? Well, let’s start by reporting the following: There’s no new episode tonight. We’re not entirely sure why CBS chose this as the time to air repeats, but it is ultimately what it is and there’s no new installment to look forward to coming on the air. With that being said, we’re still pleased to report that there is some other good news coming out right now: Jane Pauley is going to be appearing as herself on the show! The reporter will be stopping by for “On the Clock” on March 27, and the synopsis below offers up some information as to what you can expect to see there:

“As Elizabeth holds peace talks between the prime ministers of India and Pakistan, a mysterious plane crash tied to both countries causes the three parties to reevaluate the deal. Also, in an attempt to help the NSA locate the terrorist Jibral Disah, Henry approaches a former teacher of one of Disah’s wives for information, and Elizabeth withstands a grueling interview with Jane Pauley.”

Pauley’s appearance is just the latest in CBS finding ways to implement personalities from their daytime / news divisions onto their primetime shows. Sometimes, it’s a little annoying, but we’re fine with it here. It certainly makes more sense than Cat Grant from “Supergirl” going on “The Talk,” which we’re going to see on the next new episode of that show.
