Could ‘The Night Manager’ season 2 happen with Tom Hiddleston, cast?
So far through the past few weeks, audiences in Great Britain have responded favorably to the adaptation of “The Night Manager” on the BBC … and it has not even aired in America yet on AMC. It’s a captivating, thought-provoking product that is bringing a variety of interesting components to the table.
Given that the series is a direct adaptation of a book, and it also has such a high-profile cast led by Tom Hiddleston, we had long expected it to be given simply six episodes and that was it. However, there are now at least a few suggestions that there could be something more coming for it down the road. Speaking per the Mirror, here is what one source had to say about some of the ideas and discussions floating around out there:
“BBC executives are desperate to have a follow-up series and [production company] The Ink Factory is also keen to make more. Talks have reached a very advanced stage, there are just a few formalities to tie up. But everyone is confident of it happening.
“Executives took a huge gamble backing this project – it is the most expensive drama they have ever commissioned. Their risk has paid huge dividends.”
Given this claim, we’re now starting to feel fairly confident that a season 2 will happen at some point, but maybe not right away. There are a heck of a lot of other things that do need to be worked through, including actor schedules and what else the BBC has on. Also, you have to remember that there are still some episodes this season to air.
