‘Dancing with the Stars 22’ spotlight: Will Kim Fields bring some joy to the ballroom?

Kim -

We’ll begin this particular “Dancing with the Stars” spotlight article with a disclaimer: We’re a little biased towards Kim Fields. She’s a personal favorite from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” and we think that she’ll bring a lot of fun and personality to the ballroom this season. Will she win? We’re not optimistic, but we’ll be happy if she at least makes it a few weeks.

Below, we’re going to do our best to suss out in total Kim’s chances of winning. At the tail end of the article, but sure to give your final say on the odds in the poll!

Claim to fame – Once upon a time she was a star of “The Facts of Life,” and since then, she’s become a reality star on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” She was also an enormous part of “Living Single,” but that somehow has fallen by the wayside for many talking about her.

Partner – Sasha Farber. Farber has been a longtime part of her series, but his most notable experience as a pro partner comes from working with Snooki a few seasons back. He’s extremely proficient, but we really haven’t seen enough of his to really analyze his choreography on any significant level.

Strengths – The best thing about Kim, first and foremost, is likability. People are going to want to watch her on TV every week! She’s going to be funny, and she’ll probably do a great job at the performance aspects of the dance. She also has some of the nostalgia factor that many reality TV stars do not who go on this show.

Weaknesses – We don’t know how talented a dancer she is, and she’s probably not going to have the biggest built-in following from day one. While she will likely be safe for at least the first couple of weeks, she’s going to have to prove herself … and she also does not have a pro who is as popular as a Mark Ballas or a Val Chmerkovskiy, who have been on every season of the show for a rather long time.

Prediction – Kim right now feels very middle of the pack. We’re not confident enough to call her a potential finalist because of the question marks around her dance ability; still, we think viewers will really like her, and this will turn out to be a very smart career decision for her.
