‘Dancing with the Stars’ contestant Marla Maples encouraged on by ex Donald Trump

Maria -

Just in case you were wondering whether or not Marla Maples competing on “Dancing with the Stars” was going to turn into some hugely dramatic situation for her ex Donald Trump, here’s a word to the wise: It’s not.

In getting out in front of her appearance on the show, the GOP Presidential candidate (who has basically appeared on every television program known to mankind the past few weeks) gave the following statement to People Magazine about her taking part:

“I think it is wonderful. I am very happy for her and think she will do very well.”

For the most part we think that “Dancing with the Stars” will probably lean heavily on the Trump angle for Maples in the first couple of weeks, but if she makes it far enough we’re sure some other stories will take over. She is an actress by trade, so her skills in that department could serve her well getting into the character of some of these routines with partner Tony Dovolani.

We’ll spotlight Maples at some point over the next few days, but we feel like for the most part anyone who thinks that they are going to get a lot of dirt on Trump thanks to her being a part of the show will probably be disappointed. The two do share a daughter in Tiffany, who has been relatively quiet on the campaign trail as opposed to Eric, Donald Jr., and Ivanka, some of the candidate’s more notable children.
