‘The X Factor’ UK: Is Dermot O’Leary hosting announcement coming soon?

The new season of “The X Factor” is going to be premiering a little bit later this fall, and while it may technically be a new batch of episodes, it’s going to feel very much like the old version of the show. Why is that? Think along the lines of Dermot O’Leary’s almost-inevitable return to the series as host. It has not been confirmed just yet, but we’re certainly getting a whole lot of indications suggesting that it could be coming at some point sooner rather than later.

Here is what one source supposedly close to the famed presenter had to say on the subject per Now:

“Dermot’s really excited about what the new series holds and can’t wait to see what the new judges line-up will be.”

We figure that the auditions will more than likely take place a little bit later this spring, and that will help the show prepare for when it inevitably comes on the air in the late summer. The real mystery at the moment now is when the show is going to be announcing the new judges. We’ve heard plenty of rumors about Louis Tomlinson or Louis Walsh as replacements for Nick Grimshaw, and whether or not we get to see more of Rita Ora is still up in the air. She may be choosing between this show and “The Voice UK,” where she was previously a coach for this past season. (Paloma Faith has since taken her place on the panel.)
