‘Shark Tank’ preview: Beloved Shirts, MobCraft Beer, Illumibowl, Innovation Pet, and Cowboy Ryan

Shark Tank -Come Friday night, “Shark Tank” is back in action, and this time we’ve got everything from pet toys to toilet lights to everything in between. While we don’t think all of these products are going to necessarily be given deals, there’s enough innovation here that it could lead to an interesting episode, plus plenty of fighting from the Sharks to go along with it. Anytime that we have that, we know that we’re bound to be entertained.

As always, let’s start things off with the official episode synopsis:

“Two men from Provo, UT put going to the bathroom at night in a whole new light when their motion-activated LED light is attached to the toilet bowl; two Madison, WI guys use 21st century technology and the power of crowd sourcing to create an alternative to traditional beer; a self-proclaimed introvert from Orem, UT wants to combat blah-looking clothes with vibrant fashions full of unusual flair; and two animal lovers from Cedarpines Park, CA are willing to paw, scratch and pet their way into a deal with their interactive and innovative pet toys. Also, an update on Ryan “Cowboy” Ehmann from Mead, CO and his Lose 12 Inches workout program that teaches people how to exercise in their heart rate zone, in which Daymond John invested in during Season Four.”

Based on our research, here’s what we think of these products so far!

MobCraft Beer – This is an intriguing idea, and in many ways it is reminiscent of the Lay’s contest where you pick your own potato-chip flavor. The difference here is that monthly, people can submit suggests for craft beers that are then voted on via pre-orders. The one with the most pre-orders gets brewed, and you don’t get charged if your idea does not. The beer then gets made and shipped out. Craft beer is super-popular right now, and we like the social interaction that comes along with it. The one downside is that by the time you get your beer you may have forgotten that you actually ordered it!

Illumibowl – This is easy to describe: It’s a nightlight for your toilet, strange as that may sound. The idea here is clearly to help you navigate your way to the john late at night without having to turn on the light in the bathroom. It’s motion-activated and has different color settings. In theory, we suppose that this is useful; however, at the same exact time is there really going to be an enormous demand for a toilet light? It’s a tough thing to invest in unless you’re Lori Greiner and you can put this on QVC.

Innovation Pet – The name is terrible, since it sounds almost clinical to say that out loud. However, at the same time the products look great and reasonably-priced compared to other pet toys. As someone who owns a rather large cat, we’re always trying to find ways to get her to entertain herself. This looks like it could actually be effective, and it may be one of the few products we’ve spotlighted over the years that we could be a customer for down the line. That doesn’t mean, however, that we’re the average consumer or that they are deal-worthy.

Beloved Shirts – A pizza onesie? They have it? Admittedly, this stuff is way too wild for us, since we’re of the sort who likes to wear fairly low-key clothing. Five years ago, though, maybe that’d be different. We can see them getting a deal just on the basis of the creativity that we see with their brand.
