‘Shameless’ season 6, episode 8 preview: Frank gives Carl a ‘lecture’

Shameless -It’s been a little while now since we’ve seen a new episode of “Shameless” on the air. Thanks in part to the Academy Awards Showtime didn’t air a new episode last week, but rest assured that the network plans on making up for it and then some with one of the crazier installments we’ve seen to date.

How else can you describe an episode that features Frank lecturing Carl on how to remain a criminal as opposed to getting out of the game? Maybe we really shouldn’t be that surprised by this given that it’s something that William H. Macy’s character does do on a fairly-regular basis, but it does somehow continue to find odd ways to surprise us. We’d really think that someone would know better at this point than to listen to him, but who knows if they really have that much of a choice?

In a sneak peek for this episode (which you can see over at the link here), Frank makes it clear to Carl that it is more or less the Gallagher way (here we go with that again) to never give up, and to keep things rolling along … even apparently if these said “things” should really be frowned upon for obvious reasons. He even tells Carl to take a little bit of time off so that he can think about what he wants, and he’ll pick up some of the work for him. Clearly, we are looking at a model parent here! In the end, we imagine that this is only going to be the tip of the iceberg for what is a crazy episode all around.
