‘The Bachelor’: Is Jubilee Sharpe open to ‘Bachelorette’ gig?

Jubilee -We feel like if you’ve read some of our CarterMatt coverage of “The Bachelorette” as of late, then you already know how we feel regarding Jubilee Sharpe taking on the lead role in the future: We’re all for it. She would bring the show a great energy, a fascinating story, and possibly appeal the series to new viewers who have never checked it out before. Do we think that it is likely to happen? Probably not, given that this show has never had an African-American lead, and typically the producers don’t choose someone who was eliminated before hometown dates (though there are exceptions like “Bachelor” stars Juan Pablo and Jake Pavelka).

The good news at least is that Jubilee is open to the role, as she told Us Weekly recently:

“I don’t think that’s a role people ever really turn down … There are things you definitely think about it and what works for you and what doesn’t and who you want to be while you do it, and you have to kind of have a game plan basically, and stick to it. I think I would do it. I don’t have much luck in the real world, as we see, or in the TV world, as we also saw.”

Ultimately, we feel like the race for Bachelorette is probably between Caila Quinn and JoJo Fletcher, and while we’ve seen the internet hope more for the latter in the role, Caila has had more of the trajectory for what the show likes to have in their leading ladies. They can also set her up well during “The Women Tell All.”
