‘Dancing with the Stars 22’ will reportedly not feature Derek Hough as pro

DWTS -

We already knew that the upcoming 22nd season of “Dancing with the Stars” was going to be moving forward without one of the judges from last season in Julianne Hough; now, we’ve also learned that they are moving on without her brother, as well.

As first reported by People Magazine, Derek is going to take the spring season of the show off, potentially to work on some other ventures for at least the foreseeable future. This is something that he has done in the past, so we don’t think of this as any indictment that he will be gone from the series forever. After all, there are a wide array of benefits to him sticking around on the show for the future, with one of them being the creativity and flexibility to go on and do other things in the off-season.

Does this mean that we will get a new pro for the upcoming season? It’s possible, but the reality is that the show always tends to have a larger stable of pros than they have spots for in a season. Maybe this will allow someone who has not had many opportunities to hit the ballroom floor over the years a chance to show what they can do as a choreographer.

The case for “Dancing with the Stars” will be officially unveiled next week during “Good Morning America.” Be sure to stay tuned, since you better believe we’re going to have some more scoop all about the series as we get closer and closer to it coming on the air.
