‘The Bachelor’ review: Caila Quinn’s overnight date with Ben Higgins leads to dramatic exit

Caila -It wouldn’t be “The Bachelor” without some sort of shocking exit, right? Well, define “shocking.” It was dramatic seeing Caila Quinn leave the show tonight, but we think that almost the entire episode was structured around seeing her eventually be sent home. She had insecurities, Ben noticed them, and it really did not feel like she was in the same place as both JoJo Fletcher and Lauren Bushnell are. What more is there to say?

Ultimately, there’s not too much since this was really one of the duller episodes we’ve seen this season … though we could say the same thing about almost any overnight date episode ever. The final three women all had their chance to spend time with him, and there were fantasy suites and all of that.

Let’s be real: Couldn’t the show just speed things up and put this part of the show in the finale? Probably, but then there would be one less week and therefore lower ratings. The final ten minutes, which were mostly a rose ceremony, was almost entirely filler. There was nothing altogether interesting about seeing both Lauren and JoJo get a rose that we knew already they were going to get, mostly because of the fact that it would be a really boring finale if one of the two of them said no.

Now, let’s just get on with it with the finale. We know Ben Higgins loves both JoJo and Lauren, and we’re sure that it will be some huge romantic moment. Let’s just hope that it is a little more exciting in the process. Grade: B-.
