‘Outlander’ season 2 filming wraps up

Outlander -Outlander” fans, we have officially hit a milestone leading up to the season 2 premiere on April 9: The cast is finally through with filming after a long process that began in the late spring / early summer of last year. They’ve spent some time in Prague and plenty of time in Scotland, but now Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, and the rest of the cast and crew can have a little time to rest — or at least they will before the promotional tour kicks into high gear. We assume that this is going to happen in the near future. (Technically, we guess it already has in some form thanks to the new Entertainment Weekly cover.)

You can see a series of posts on Twitter from Heughan, Balfe, and executive producer Maril Davis confirming the end of filming, which has to be such a huge celebration since so much time and effort goes into making sure these episodes get done.

So when will the third season begin filming? Maybe we’re getting a little bit ahead of ourselves given that Starz has not officially confirmed that this is happening just yet … though we have to assume that it is coming. If the series follows a similar production timeline than filming has to begin within the next several months, but who knows if that will happen? It’s a little early to speculate too much on what’s going to happen.

For now, let’s just start getting excited (or at least even more so) to see the further adventures of Jamie and Claire Fraser on screen.
