‘Chicago PD’ season 3, episode 18 review: ‘Kasuall with a K’

Chicago PD -The last episode of “Chicago PD” was solely focused on the case of the week, so if you were there to see more of Lindsay and Halstead’s relationship or to see if Burgess and Ruzek are back together, then you were probably a little disappointed. That being said, this episode is going to have a lot going on and if you don’t believe us then see what actress Marina Squerciati (Kim Burgess) recently told us in an exclusive interview about this episode at the link here!

Relationship-wise, we’re not going to pretend that this episode gave us a tremendous amount of progress, at least in terms of Burgess and Ruzek. However, Burgess and Roman did end up having a night out together after their latest case, which involved some undercover work at a catfishing operation. It’s hard to say what’s going to come of this, but they do have a natural foundation that comes from them being partners.

The majority of the screen time tonight was donated primarily to what we ended up seeing from Lindsay and Halstead as they worked to uncover the source of a kidnapping that took place at a secret women’s shelter. This was a case that of course tested them, and led to Voight making some heavy threats to potential suspects … and also to Lindsay opening up briefly to Halstead at the end of the episode about her own shelter history. This was powerful stuff, and it was a stark contrast to the end with Burgess and Roman. The show really did try to give us a little bit of everything in this episode.

Overall, though, we’d say that “Kasuall with a K” was a story about heroes; specifically, those brave enough to start over after great torment, and those who are willing to help them. Grade: B+.
