‘Madam Secretary’ season 2, episode 15 reaction: Did Henry McCord survive attack?

Going into Sunday night’s new episode of “Madam Secretary,” we know that the question mentioned here is the one that trumps almost every other. Also, we understand why. Everyone wanted to know of course whether or not Henry McCord survived the attack and the poisoning, and we feel like Tim Daly even fueled the first to a certain extent on Twitter.

Now that we’ve said all of this, we’ve got an answer for you below! (Warning: Spoilers ahead.)

In the end, Henry did manage to survive despite facing a difficult recovery, and Elizabeth spent the majority of the hour alternating between trying to look after him and getting to the bottom of everything that transpired when it comes to the attack. Eventually we think she got a few answers, but more than anything it was clear that a restructuring was in order at the White House after some people on the food chain clearly made big mistakes across the board in stopping the terrorists.

Even though Henry ended up being okay at the end of the episode, there was still tension and plenty of it. There was some tension between him and his wife over his post, which was starting to look rather ambiguous after everything that happened. President Dalton made a key decision to institute a new group at the end of the episode to help monitor difficult situations, with a terrorist group being at the top of the priority list. Henry was transferred from his old job to become one of the new leaders of this secret group, mostly because of the specific expertise that he had in the field.
