‘The X Factor’ loses Olly Murs as co-host; is Caroline Flack also leaving?

The latest news -The carousel of “The X Factor” continues this weekend.

Just a mere matter of days after the news first broke about Nick Grimshaw decided to call it quits as a judge on the popular ITV singing competition, we’re now also hearing that co-host Olly Murs has opted to return to music rather than continuing to be a part of the series. In a statement per Digital Spy, the singer had the following message to pass along:

“This was an incredibly hard decision to make and one I didn’t take lightly as I’ve really enjoyed co-hosting The X Factor … It’s been one big adventure and I loved every minute of it. But my heart belongs to music and I want to concentrate 100 per cent on making my next album and getting back to performing.”

Ultimately, the show will go on to figure what they are going to do in the hosting department. While Caroline Flack has been reported to be leaving the show, that has not been confirmed as of yet. Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see there. We actually think she’s a good presenter! The biggest problem that she faced throughout her first appearance of the show was that the whole duo-hosting concept was a bust. It never felt natural, and while the two were fun on “The Xtra Factor,” they could never recapture that same sort of fun energy in a live environment.

The great news for Olly is that we have to expect he’ll be invited back to perform at some point.
