‘Downton Abbey’ season 6, episode 8 preview (PBS): Laura Carmichael – Michelle Dockery teases galore!
While Sunday night’s new episode of “Downton Abbey” is not the series finale for the show, it aired in Great Britain as the last of an eight-episode run before a break. As a result of that, there is a certain sense of finality that comes from watching it. There are some huge events that happen, a few things that are pleasant surprises, and then also something that may devastate you for a little bit of time until the final episode airs in a little over a week.
For now, let’s go ahead and commence what is now our penultimate edition of sharing teasers for what you can expect!
1. This will be possibly the biggest Michelle Dockery episode of the season, if not the series. Expect a wide range of emotions from Lady Mary.
2. Ultimately, you can say the same thing for Laura Carmichael’s Lady Edith. You will see the relationship with Bertie change in this episode.
3. Edith and Mary’s stories cross paths in a way that you can almost certainly describe as explosive.
4. Tom Branson will find himself once again in the position of peacemaker with multiple characters this episode.
5. One member of the downstairs staff is going to make a move that is truly devastating, and you’ll wonder whether or not they make it to the end of the series alive after witnessing it.
6. By the end of the episode, be prepared for a big ceremony, and also a reflective Robert as he starts to look ahead at the most eventful time of his life starting to wind down a little bit.
