‘Shark Tank’ preview: Sworkit, Clean Sleep, TUTUblue, Nohbo, and Signal Vault

Shark Tank -After a bit of an odd “Shark Tank” episode last week that featured Daymond John and Barbara Corcoran on the show together for the first time in a couple of years, Friday night’s new episode is going to come forward featuring a variety of other new, interesting products. We’ve got one in the closing space, a mattress-cleaner, an alternative way to get shampoo, a way to work out, and a new way to avoid skin problems at the beach.

Want to get a base description of this episode right now? Then check out the official synopsis below:

“A 16-year-old environmentalist from Melbourne, FL has an eco-friendly way to say goodbye to plastic bottles; a former soap star villainess from Sherman Oaks, CA wants the sharks to make a deal with her one-piece swimsuit that can keep you sun-safe and stylish; two men from Washington, DC pitch an app that creates exercise play lists for the everyday person; and a man from Corinth, TX promises to expose the hidden, dirty secrets lurking in your mattress. Plus, a follow-up on Chris Gilpin from Sanford, FL and Signal Vault, his business that protects consumers from crowd-hack-attacks, in which Lori Greiner and Robert Herjavec invested in during Season Seven.”

Clean Sleep – Mattresses sometimes can be filthy horror stories; we watched enough of “Hotel Hell” to know that to be true. This company provides services that will allow them to come to you, take your mattress right outside your residence / building, and then clean it with their machine. It’s dry and clean at the completion of the service, and price-wise, we don’t think the numbers are terrible. It’s a decent idea, though we do still wonder if people are really going to spend time thinking about the cleanliness of their mattress when they think about some of their expenses for a given period of time.

Nohbo – It’s basically a ball of shampoo that is created with the intention of reducing plastic waste and harmful chemicals. It’s an interesting idea, but one that’s probably going to be hard to prove to the Sharks as anything worthy of an investment. The company right now is advertising an Indiegogo campaign, so we cannot imagine there are many sales. Also, we feel like most consumers are going to think they’re doing enough by recycling plastic shampoo bottles, even if that is not the case.

Sworkit – Do you have a problem coming up with the right customized video workout for your fitness routine? This app is designed to help you plot out and personalize things like never before. We do think that there is a nice touch of creativity to the technology here, but the issue is simple: There are about three billion different fitness-related items out there, with many of them offering up a chance for you to create a better experience for yourself.

TUTUblue – The basic idea behind this brand is rather simple: It’s a way for people to get out and enjoy being in the sun once more, without having to worry nearly as much about wearing sunscreen. These long beach suits are SPF 50 and can protect you, while still being lightweight and comfortable. In terms of function, maybe they are a great alternative. The question that we would have as an investor is whether or not they are fashionable and is there proof of demand.
