‘Madam Secretary’ season 2, episode 14 reaction: Did an explosion cost Henry his life?

Madam -

Going into Sunday night’s new episode of “Madam Secretary,” we heard headlines aplenty regarding a massive event that could shake things up … and by the end of this episode, we know exactly why. We had a pretty strong indicator that things were taking a turn for the worse when some uranium went missing, and it led to there being an attack right in the middle of a conference. This was entitled “Left of the Boom” for a reason.

The good news, at least for now, suggests that all of the McCord family made it out in one piece … at least in terms of the initial blast. The bad news? Elizabeth doesn’t have all of the information just yet, and Henry seems to be doing a very good job of working in hero mode. The problem is that uranium poisoning is a thing, and this is going to be something that is extremely hard for him to overcome. As a matter of fact, we’d be incredibly nervous if you are a fan of him.

What this episode represents to us is a further change in strategy in regards to the way in which this show is working / being promoted this season. CBS has gone in a little more of a “shocking” direction, allowing for many of their series to go for cliffhangers and events that you wouldn’t see coming. This qualifies as that and then some.

Now, the problem for these characters moving forward will come via second-guessing, and whether or not there is anything that they could have done to keep an event like this from happening.
