The midseason premiere of “Talking Dead” will of course be following up the premiere of the flagship “Walking Dead” Sunday night, and for the first show back it looks like AMC is happy to have a big name aboard!
Joining Chris Hardwick on the aftershow this week is going to be none other than country superstar Carrie Underwood, who we are learning pretty much right now is a big fan of the franchise. This is one of the fun things about doing a show like this, since we wouldn’t have any real idea otherwise that there are some very random people who are also big fans of the show.
Joining Carrie and Chris for this episode will be someone who knows this particular episode rather well in Greg Nicotero, given that he also directed the episode and is an executive producer for the show itself. Also, you’ve got the promise of a “surprise cast member,” which is always fun if a little bit unnerving since you never quite know for sure just who is going to be turning up. The one thing that we have learned is that it doesn’t necessarily have to be someone whose character dies; it could be someone who is in the middle of the story, or someone new who has been introduced. We’ve learned a few times now over the years that dying characters are not the only times in which the show chooses to label their guest as a surprise.
Ultimately, we’ll get an answer later tonight, which also happens to be when we’ll be posting our review of the “Walking Dead” midseason premiere.
