Valentine’s Day is traditionally a very eventful time in the lives of many people, and for “The Big Bang Theory” this meant a chance to see how things can go very well, and also very badly.
Let’s start with what was the funniest part of the episode: Sheldon and Amy hosting a live edition of “Fun with Flags” that eventually became a romantic advice show. Raj broke up with Emily after feeling like the screenwriter he met at the comic-book store was the right person for him … only to realize that she and her old boyfriend were back together. While Raj begged Amy for romantic advice, Kripke also surprisingly got in on the act with a ridiculous call of his own. We feel for Raj, but he’ll find someone else, right?
Now, let’s talk about the other big business of the night: Bernadette is pregnant! She made the announcement to a rabbit that she found in her hot-tub, but decided not to tell Howard just yet because he was too busy freaking out about getting bit by the animal. This will probably be picked up soon, potentially as early next week. We expect that Howard is going to be pretty excited since he’s been wanting to start having children for a while now.
As for the Leonard and Penny storyline about spicing up their relationship, it was very silly. Yet, at the same time seeing them burst in on “Fun with Flags” in the closing seconds was a nice little button to the episode as a whole. This was about as fun of a Valentine’s episode as the show has had; that doesn’t mean that it was one of the best episodes we’ve ever seen, but we were at least entertained throughout. Grade: A-.
