‘Gilmore Girls’ revival: Milo Ventimiglia returns, Sutton Foster to appear

We’ve got the latest batch of news in right now when it comes to the upcoming “Gilmore Girls” revival, and it is certainly good news when it comes to the character of Jess: He’s coming back!

Sources have confirmed that Milo Ventimiglia has agreed to return to the Netflix reboot, though the extent of his role is not entirely clear. What is exciting is that this is the second of Rory’s love interests to appear after Matt Czuchry agreed to return as Logan; there is no news as of yet when it comes to whether or not Jared Padalecki is going to be returning as Dean, but we’re going to continue to be hopeful even though we know that he is a very busy guy thanks to his “Supernatural” filming schedule.

Now, some other news. TVLine reports that Sutton Foster is going to be appearing in an undisclosed role this season. Foster is of course well-known in starring in the excellent-but-canceled ABC Family series “Bunheads,”which happened long before their transition into Freeform. The site certainly suggests that it is possible that she could even play the same role in Michelle that she played in “Bunheads,” but we’re not entirely sure that this will happen just yet given that Amy Sherman-Palladino used many “Gilmore Girls” alumni in that show. This isn’t “The Flash,” where there are multiverses and doppelgangers … at least the last time we checked.

We don’t expect the “Gilmore Girls” revival to air until at some point in 2017, so we don’t expect this to be the end of the stream of casting news. Stay tuned, as we’ll have more scoop as soon as it all starts to come out!
