‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: About that Hunter Zolomon tease…

FlashIt’s been a couple of episodes on “The Flash” since the name Hunter Zolomon first started to float around out there, but if you’re wondering if there is something more to this man (the Earth-1 counterpart to Jay Garrick), nobody associated with the show is saying other than that there’s a pretty clear reason why he was mentioned.

Speaking per IGN, executive producer Todd Helbing stated the following about that Hunter Easter Egg:

“We do things on purpose in the show, but as you know sometimes we follow the way things are in the comics and sometimes we don’t. That’s pretty much all I’m going to say about that.”

Our translation is as follows: Everyone’s well aware that Hunter Zolomon is an alter ego for Zoom in the comics, but just because Hunter exists on the show does not necessarily mean that he is Zoom. This is a show that is known for adding and remixing elements from the comics, and they’ll probably continue to find a way to do so here, as well.

What we do know is this, thanks to fellow EP Aaron Helbing: “I’d be pretty confident that you’ll see Hunter Zolomon again.” Well, we guess we’ll be excited about that?

For the time being, we’d say that some of the other Zoom candidates on Earth-2 include Wally West (we know that the Earth-1 version of him certainly does crave speed), Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett’s character on “Quantico” was killed off in the midseason finale), and Henry Allen (he is still reasonably unaccounted for on Earth-2, though we do assume that he is still with Barry’s mother; this may rule him out).
