‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ does Carpool Karaoke with Sir Elton John (video)
Sometimes it takes late-night hosts a little while to find their signature segment, but luckily James Corden figured something out in the early going with Carpool Karaoke. This is the sort of game that you can make almost anyone comfortable with in a short amount of time, given that you’re not forcing them to do anything than what they probably do a regular basis anyway. You get in a car, put on some music, and then just sing obnoxiously.
We’ve already seen Corden bust out songs with the likes of Adele and Justin Bieber, but for his post-Super Bowl version of “The Late Late Show” on Sunday, Corden busted out none other than music icon Sir Elton John, who was particularly game to have a little bit of fun. The two rolled through a wide array of his biggest hits, while also joking around with costumes here and there and doing a pseudo-interview in the process. This was a heck of a lot of fun to watch … especially the part that included a lion mane.
One of the other great things about this video series for Corden is that there really is no shortage of things that he can do from here with it, either. There are still hundreds of artists out there who are famous enough to justify having their own entry in this series, and those are people we are hopefully going to get a chance to see shine at some point in the future.
As a bonus, check out Corden and Cindy Crawford below reenacting an iconic Super Bowl commercial for Pepsi.
