Super Bowl 50: Bruno Mars confirms role in Coldplay Halftime Show

The Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show is now even more electric than it was beforehand.

Today, Bruno Mars confirmed the long-simmering rumor that he will be joining Coldplay and Beyonce in the Bay Area on Sunday night, giving this game even more buzz than it had previously. Having an array of stars as of late has become almost more significant for the game than one individually, and it’ll be interesting to see how this all lines up.

Mars certainly has experience being at the big game, having done this role in the past to great acclaim. He’s a consummate entertainment, and he and Beyonce should provide some energy that you won’t necessarily see from Chris Martin’s band in the same way. (To be honest, we’re still not entirely sure why Coldplay is performing — we’re a huge fan of the band, but this isn’t the audience for some of their more emotional songs; meanwhile, some of their more-upbeat tunes really aren’t that well-known. We’re not sure what the upside is, other than of course performing in front of 100 million-plus viewers in the United States alone.

Be assured that we’re going to be covering this event aplenty over the course of the night! That includes presenting highlights from what is our favorite part of the night: Commercials! Yep, we really don’t care at all about the game itself other than we’ve always liked the Panthers’ uniforms.
