‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Larry David, Leslie Jones have a conversation

SNL -Saturday Night Live” chose an interesting pairing for Larry David for its promos of the upcoming episode in Leslie Jones, mostly because these two may be a little more similar comedically than you would first think. For example, both find humor in some mundane facets of life, and they each tend to become more and more hilarious as they bring their energy level up. Sure, they do tend to start in very different places, but there’s a fascinating dynamic between them that can be seen in the latest NBC preview below.

Or favorite of the promos below is the one that happens at the start of the video, or at least once you get through the super-annoying ad that NBC tries to make you watch after already watching an ad. We’ll never get over that. Basically, it’s a long ramble to get to a couple of pretty good punch-lines, and throughout the video we get David playing into what he thinks Jones wants from him, only to be in some way surprised.

We certainly imagine that this will be a lively episode this weekend, even if part of it will be predictable. How do you not get him to do Bernie Sanders given just how much attention the Presidential candidate has received in the past week? David’s an interesting choice in that he’s already appeared twice this season without even being a host, so he probably has a little bit more of a built-in rapport than you see from many other hosts. It also helps that he was at one point a writer on the show, even if it is a very different cast and crew now than it was decades ago when he was a part of it.
