Barry Sloane of ‘Longmire,’ ‘Revenge’ books role in new History miniseries

History -History is setting up a new miniseries all about SEAL Team Six, and they’ve enlisted someone who certainly has played a wide array of drama in the past for one of the lead roles: Barry Sloane.

As reported by TVLine, the “Revenge” alum (who has been appearing as of late on “Longmire” in the role of Zachary) is set to play John “Bear” Graves, the leader of the group, in an eight-part series from William Broyles Jr. and David Broyles, a man who has experience in the world of military special operations. It’s a meaty role inspired by true events; in the miniseries, we’re going to see a story about a 2014 mission in Afghanistan, where they uncover an American working alongside many of the terrorists.

While we’re very excited for Sloane, we of course do have to wonder what this role could end up meaning for Zachary on “Longmire.” His future was left somewhat up in the air at the end of season 4, and we know that we’d personally love to see more of the character since he brought such a different vibe to the Sheriff’s department. Unfortunately, it could be some time before we know an answer on this, and we don’t want to go too far down the rabbit hole of speculation on something like this without knowing any further information.

What we do at least know for now is that the fifth season of “Longmire” will likely start filming later this spring, and should air on Netflix pending some drastic change during the fall. We’ll have further news soon, and for now be sure to check out our recent archive.
