‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: Amanda Stanton, Ben Higgins fly high for one-on-one date
It’s already been confirmed that “The Bachelor” is heading to Mexico for Monday night’s new episode, and based on some of the previews that you’ve seen, you could probably guess that we are also going to be seeing a hot-air balloon ride featuring Ben Higgins and Amanda Stanton. The show loves to do these sort of dates: They’re visually stunning, romantic, and also an opportunity to infuse a little bit of danger as well. This show loves to take people’s fears (like heights) and make them face it head on – what better way to bring to people together then fear?
What is interesting about this date, though, is that you’re going to see so much more than just a balloon ride; the synopsis below teases that the two are going to have a difficult conversation about her past:
“Amanda and Ben go “up, up and away” for a picturesque balloon ride over ancient ruins. After a day of sight-seeing, the couple cozy is up for a quiet, romantic dinner. The shy bachelorette decides to share the story of her traumatic divorce, but will her honesty throw a wrench into the possibility of a happy future together?”
Our feeling is that for now, the less of the divorce chatter we hear, the better we’re going to feel about this date. It’s just always supremely awkward to hear all about one side of the story without the other person there, mostly because it is hard to look at things in an unbiased manner even when you’re trying to. There are always two sides to a divorce.
This is not going to be the only drama in this episode; be prepared to also see the much-discussed “Teen Mom” moment that turns even more people against Olivia Caridi.
