We really think that Friday night’s new episode of “Blue Bloods” was the best one we’ve seen in a long time. Baez got to have more time in the spotlight than we’ve seen from her in quite a long time, just as we also had a chance to see Jamie try to come to Eddie’s defense in an story that could have some implications for their future … but for now, he mostly just did it out of a desire to be a decent human being and not see terrible things happen to her.
As for when we could see the show return to CBS for some further episodes, we’ve got a particular return date in mind for Donnie Wahlberg and company: Friday, February 12.
Why the long wait? It is a good question, but when it comes to competition / other possible reasons why we are being forced to wait at the moment, there really is not any answer that makes a whole lot of sense other than this one: The network simply wants to stretch out the season as much as they possibly can. There are only 22 episodes, and we’ve already made it through 13 of them. Therefore, they need to find a way to keep this going until May.
Here is the good news that we have on the subject right now: There will probably be at least a couple of episodes airing in a row during sweeps. After all, this is a time where networks really like to air some of the biggest episodes and events.
