‘Elementary’ season 4, episode 10 preview: Does everything fall apart for Sherlock, Morland Holmes?

ElementaryEver since the beginning of “Elementary” as a series, it has been fairly clear that things have been shaky ground between Sherlock Holmes and his father Morland. This was made even clearer when John Noble arrived on the scene earlier this season, and it is going to be even more so on next week’s new episode “Alma Maters.”

Based on the synopsis below via CBS, it is fairly clear that some recent events between these two characters (specifically Morland this time) have caused a further fracture, and we’re not entirely sure that they will be healed at this point. Sherlock’s not someone to quickly turn around in regards to having an opinion. The synopsis below does a great job of explaining this, and then also setting up further what else you can expect to see in the case ahead:

“Holmes’ tentative reconciliation with his father suffers a setback when Holmes and Watson discover Morland has been keeping a secret that threatens all of their safety. Also, Holmes and Watson investigate two murders connected to a for-profit college and its illegal recruitment practices.”

Is recruiting something worth killing for? We’re not entirely sure, which is why to us this makes this case probably all the more intriguing. Basically, what we could be seeing here when the dust settles is an instance of there being something even more sinister bubbling beneath the surface, and it being the responsibility of Sherlock and Joan to figure it out. That could turn out to be more of a struggle than anyone expected.
