‘Supernatural’ season 11, episode 11 preview: How will Sam, Dean handle change in Castiel?

CastielA funny thing happened on “Supernatural” Wednesday night; right after we campaigned hard to see the Castiel character get a larger story, the show went ahead and had him become a vessel for Lucifer. Who saw that coming? It has to be fun for Misha Collins given that this is such a different way to play him than he’s used to, but it’s pretty scary for the Winchesters to see such a close friend and ally start to show some erratic behavior.

Next week, the episode entitled “Into the Mystic” is going to dive into some of what is next for Castiel, but also at the same time a case-of-the-week for the Winchesters that certainly looks as though it could be very much fun in its own right:

“Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate a case where people are suffering violent deaths after hearing a mysterious song.”

To us, this feels like the best of both words when it comes to “Supernatural.” For those who like Winchester adventures and some iconic monster cases, you may get that courtesy of whatever these “song murders” are. Meanwhile, Castiel fans will have a chance to raise further questions about if there is a way to get the tie with Lucifer severed.

As for Rowena … well, let’s just hope that Rowena somehow finds a way to come back. After what happened with her during this episode, it’s going to take a little bit of time for us to get over it.
