‘Madam Secretary’ season 2, episode 12 preview: Elizabeth McCord versus … neighbors?

MadamElizabeth McCord has tackled problems from everywhere from Russia to outer space on “Madam Secretary,” but come Sunday night’s new episode she could be coming across her most challenging opponent to date: Neighbors.

Could some people close to Elizabeth’s home want her to move out? Based on the promo below, this could be one of the more-humorous aspects of “The Middle Way.” In a sense, we certainly understand why having a major U.S. diplomat living so close to you could be problematic. They are going to be the subject of a lot of attention, and while you may be grateful for some of what they do (at least if you agree with their policies), that does not mean that you want to hear about them all of the time at home or see constant government officials.

Still, Elizabeth’s line to Henry about them “good people” is a nice moment of humor for a show that has dealt with many serious ideas over the course of the season so far. Heck, we just dealt with Ostrov’s death on the show this past episode.

For those wondering, there will definitely still be many issues that Tea Leoni’s character has to tackle in this episode. Specifically, she will be going to Myanmar, and the situation will intensify to the point where at least one life will hang in the balance. Of course, there will still be a surprise in the form of who ends up pointing a gun.
