‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: More details on Colton Haynes’ return as Roy

Oliver -

Roy Harper is a character many loved through his stint on “Arrow,” but the moment it was clear that Thea was going to become Speedy, there was a “too many heroes” situation going on. He got a chance to start over after being freed from prison, but something is going to cause him to consider a return on the upcoming February 3 episode of the show entitled “Unchained.”

Unfortunately, the synopsis below does not make it particularly clear just why Roy is back (or if he will don the Arsenal costume once more); even still, we’re glad to see him on the show again and to figure out just what he has in store for us the rest of the way. Take a look at the episode’s synopsis below, which hints at the return of another familiar face:

“The team faces off against a formidable villain nicknamed The Calculator (guest star Tom Amandes). Meanwhile, Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law) makes her move and Roy Harper (guest star Colton Haynes) returns to Star City.”

What is Nyssa making her move against? If we had to guess, we would say more than likely that she will be doing what she can in order to unseat Malcolm Merlyn as the head of the League of Assassins. This is something she’s been enraged about ever since the end of last season, and really all she has to do is wait for the right moment in which he is vulnerable to strike. Are we about to be at said moment? Hopefully we’ll find out over the course of the next two episodes.
