It should really be no secret to anyone that Lauren Bushnell is getting a one-on-one date on “The Bachelor” next week. It was shown in the promos, and the edit has made an effort the first two weeks to ensure that she is included, even for just a minute or two.
Based on the synopsis below from ABC, it seems like the flight attendant’s date with Ben Higgins will ironically feel rather familiar at first before eventually becoming almost a greatest-hits collection for the show:
“Ben rolls up to the mansion in a vintage convertible to whisk away Lauren B. to a private airport. Little do they know they will be flying in a tricked-out bi-plane over the mansion. The flyover sends the remaining bachelorettes below into a jealous frenzy. They land near a private hillside where a hot tub is nestled. The two share a quiet dinner, and then Ben surprises Lauren B. with a special performance by Lucy Angel, an American country music family trio, which is one of Ben’s favorites.”
Ultimately, this checks all of the boxes. Is there a danger element? Sure, and there’s also a hot tub, a dinner, and a big concert by an act we’ve never really heard of. (That’s not a slam against Lucy Angel; we’re just not much of a country fan and they pick a lot of country acts for this show for whatever reason.)
Will this date make Lauren into more of an instant favorite? It’s probable, mostly because the majority of the dates given during the early portion of the season are to people that are meant to be considered major contenders for the final rose.
