‘Teen Wolf’ season 5 spoilers: ‘Switched at Birth’ vet Gilles Marini joins Crystal Reed for flashback story

As many “Teen Wolf” fans may now know, former cast member Crystal Reed is appearing once more on the MTV hit for an upcoming episode, but not in the present. Instead, she is going to be appearing in the past as a woman who experiences more of the original Beast of Gévaudan legend that what the characters are going through now in Beacon Hills. Now, we’re finding out who else is going to be populating that universe.

As first reported by TVLine, former “Switched at Birth” star and “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Gilles Marini will be playing Sebastien, a French soldier who returns home to discover that a monster has been terrorizing the countryside. Here is what executive producer Jeff Davis had to say about casting this actor specifically:

“When Gilles was on set, he was excited to do the story … He’s French, and for his family, the Beast of Gévaudan was their Boogeyman. They would all tell stories about the Beast, so it was a very familiar character to him.”

Meanwhile, Lachlan Buchanan of “The Young and the Restless” is going to be playing Henri, a descendant of the Argent family who is a bit of a forest recluse, and through one way or another has figured out quite a bit when it comes to the origins of the Beast character. His proximity to the Beast in one way or another certainly puts him in common ground with many future members of the family … though we know already that Allison meets a tragic end.
