‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: A huge surprise is coming with Damien Darhk story

Damien -Anytime that you make it more than a few seasons into a show, there is one question that comes up early and often: How do you innovate? How can you make something coming up different than anything that you’ve seen before? Going into the rest of “Arrow” season 4, the producers seem ready to tackle that question with Damien Darhk. We’ve already learned that the character (played by Neal McDonough) actually has a family, and therefore he may be different than some other villains we’ve seen. He has a little bit more to lose on a personal level.

In explaining this further to IGN, executive producer Marc Guggenheim promised that there would be a twist coming up that nobody will (at least hopefully) see coming:

“The back half of the season, we’re pretty much following the same structure that we have in seasons past where obviously the Big Bad gears up. That said, we’re going to throw a hard six in episode 15 that I think will surprise people … We’re going to do something that’s never been done before on Arrow with the Big Bad. 15 is a real game-changer episode for us.”

We’re not entirely sure how in the world you can speculate about something like this other than saying that we are happy that the writers are taking a risk. While we haven’t agreed with all of them (the less we talk about the back half of season 3, the better), we’ll always prefer an embolden group of writers than those who act timid.
