Is ‘Scorpion’ season 2, episode 14 new tonight on CBS? On ‘Son of a Gun,’ the future

Scorpion -First and foremost, we start of this “Scorpion” article with some bad news: There is no new episode coming onto CBS Monday night unfortunately. As for the reasoning behind the move, we’re not entirely sure. It always has been a little bit baffling that we get a new episode the first week of January, and then not one the week after; in case you don’t see the inference here, this is something that CBS has done many times in the past.

So what is coming up the rest of the month? We thought we’d offer up a little bit of news on this subject for this article.

“Son of a Gun” (January 18) – The first appearance of Jeff Fahey (“Lost”) as Sylvester’s father, a military man who has had a strained relationship with his son.

“Da Bomb” (January 25) – An episode that features Walter O’Brien going on a date … only for a bomb to be strapped to said date not too long afterwards. Hopefully this tilts to the funnier side of things given the title.

Speaking of Walter O’Brien, one other thing that you can hopefully expect to see soon on the site is an interview with the real Walter O’Brien. We’ve sent some questions over to him via email, so that is something that we should have for you in the future.

The schedule for February and beyond for “Scorpion” is unclear, but we imagine that there will probably be at least a week or two’s worth of new episodes in there given that it is sweeps. One week where it is all but confirmed to be a repeat is February 15, and that is because of the Grammys.

Update: We’ve heard some speculation that CBS airing repeats tonight is probably due to the college football championship, which we suppose we understand … but it’s still a bummer for those of us who are so separated from college sports we don’t even think about them being on.
