‘Celebrity Big Brother’ spoilers: Kim Kardashian friend Jonathan Cheban leaves house

Following the news today of David Bowie’s tragic passing today, we assumed that his ex-wife Angie would be the next person to leave “Celebrity Big Brother” under her own accord. However, that has turned out to not be the case.

The show’s network Channel 5 confirmed the news today that longtime Kim Kardashian friend and former star of “The Spin Crowd” Jonathan Cheban has departed, which in turn has the show without one of its more buzzworthy names on social media. Here is what they said in a statement:

“Jonathan Cheban has decided to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House.  His exit will appear in tomorrow night’s show on Channel 5 at 9pm. Make sure you watch tonight’s Bit on the Side at 11pm on Channel 5 for exclusive footage of the moment Jonathan left the House.”

Ultimately, we’re stunned mostly that Cheban decided to do this show in the first place. Maybe he wanted to expand his brand, but given his social status we don’t understand why he would put himself through this headache in the first place. He’s almost surely not hurting for money, and there are all sorts of opportunities that await him in America. Ultimately, maybe he just decided that being on this show is not worth all the nonsense that it requires you to go through.

From a viewer standpoint, this is one of the reasons why the celebrity concept can often be irritating in the first place; many of these “stars” just don’t have their heart in the game, and are prone to early exits or not caring about the production at all. At least the non-celebrities seem to have something more on the line, whether it be a desire for the prize money or fame that comes with the show.
