‘Poldark’ season 2: Behold new Aidan Turner photo!
The second season of “Poldark” is, quite sadly, still many months away from airing on the BBC, but that is not stopping the show’s official account from kindly sharing a new photo of everyone’s beloved Captain Ross.
The photo below of Aidan Turner is a reward for fans who have been voting for the show in the National TV Awards. The “Poldark” fandom is one of the strongest on the internet in terms of supporting the show, and the official account has done a tremendous job in its own right in letting fans know about some of the polls and awards ballots that are out there for voting.
Sure, this photo may not give anything at all away about the upcoming second season, but is anyone really going to be that upset about it? It’s a new Aidan Turner photo!
We imagine that at some point over the next couple of months we’ll get some more video footage of the second season, and then hopefully a premiere date not too long after that. Unfortunately, BBC One is notorious at times when it comes to not announcing their premiere dates until the last minute; this is one element of their brand strategy we’d love to see them make a New Year’s resolution to change. Fans of the show in America are likely still going to have to wait until the summer; while that may be a bummer, we almost prefer it for this show since there will be some lesser competition in the ratings.

I doubt you’ll see in in the US before Jan 2017, given it seems it will not finish UK post-production until the summer. They have as good as confirmed it will premiere in the UK in September.
