‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ preview: The surprise Phaedra Parks – Mama Joyce showdown

Just when Phaedra Parks thought that she had enough trouble dealing with drama from some of her “Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-stars, this just in: She also has to deal with drama from some of their parents … or at least Mama Joyce. The frequent pot-stirrer and mother of Kandi Burruss is going to make her presence felt in a big way, and it will be using some of her familiar tactics: Getting involved in business that is not really her own.

In the sneak peek below, you can see Joyce pay Phaedra a visit to talk about some of the recent drama, which has roped in everyone from Porsha Willaims to members of Kandi’s team over a variety of factors, from the tenuous relationship between Kandi and Phaedra to Kandi’s husband Todd Tucker having some beef with Phaedra over a workout video. There are a lot of different parts at play here, and Joyce tells Parks that she doesn’t want anything to cause her daughter stress during what is a high-risk pregnancy. We think in this instance that Joyce’s heart is in the right place here in terms of trying to stand up for her daughter. However, at the same time we also have a feeling that she likes doing this stuff.

Also, does anyone else feel like that at one point Joyce starts to really lay it on thick to the point of being passive-aggressive?

Eventually, we do know at some point in this episode that we will see Todd and Phaedra have a conversation, and maybe this will be the beginning of the end for some of the conflict. We have to hope that things get rolling in a better direction soon.
