‘Daredevil’ season 2: (Earlier) premiere date confirmed; see first teaser video!

For everyone excited about Marvel’s “Daredevil” this spring, we come with good tidings! It’s going to be out even earlier than it was first expected.

As the teaser below confirms, the second season will officially premiere on Netflix on Friday, March 18, almost a full month earlier than season 1 and also a good week earlier than recent reports had it premiering. We don’t know if this date was always the plan or note, but kudos for moving it away from direct competition against “Batman v. Superman.” With this move, the show gets a chance to occupy the spotlight by itself for a little while before another hero comes in and snatches it.

While the teaser does not contain any new footage, what we feel like it does do an effective job at doing is reminding us that in many ways, the worst is still to come for Matt Murdock. The ending hints at “more work that needs to be done,” and there is some definite Punisher imagery going on. That character (played by Jon Bernthal) will be front and center through the season, and what is mostly interesting about that is that he is not a traditional villain … mostly because some may not consider him a villain at all. He’s instead the ultimate antihero, someone who does punish bad people but at the same time uses less-than-desirable means in which to do so.

Hopefully, Netflix gives us something a little more intense and substantial to be excited about before we get around to the season 2 premiere. Stay tuned, as we’re going to have some other news on the show every step of the way.
