‘Suits’ season 5, episode 11 video: New promo hints at Mike’s dark fate

The fifth season of “Suits” is returning with new episodes on Wednesday, January 20, and in case you have not seen any video footage of what lies ahead just yet, the promo below may be right up your alley!

The video (first posted by The Hollywood Reporter) does a good job of laying out the stakes specifically for what is coming up. Leslie Hope is going to be guest-starring in the upcoming episodes as Anita Gibbs, the woman responsible for prosecuting Mike Ross. It may be difficult to remember when you consider that Mike is the hero of our story, but she is actually trying to do the right thing here in taking him down a notch. The problem here is mostly that we’ve come to know and root for Mike, so our natural proclivity is to want to root for his happiness.

Unfortunately, it’s hard to imagine many situations in which Mike is going to get this. As Gibbs points out in this promo, he more or less committed fraud almost every time that he picked up the firm while working at Pearson Specter Litt (even before it was known by this name), and these are charges that will be hard for him to walk away from. There are only six episodes to go through the rest of the season, and it is clear that the show has a lot of ground to cover if Mike is going to find himself on the outside by the end of it. His freedom is not necessarily guaranteed.
