‘Chicago Fire’ season 4 spoilers: Jesse Spencer talks latest state of Dawson, Casey

While you may have to wait until Tuesday, January 5 to get any further specifics in regards to “Chicago Fire” season 4, that is not stopping us right now from sharing a little more news in regards to a prominent couple in Dawson and Casey and their future. They’ve been through a lot, from an engagement to a breakup to a capture to a pregnancy to then a miscarriage. Yet, they are now working things out, and it doesn’t seem like either one of them is going to be walking away from the other anytime soon.

So why not do an engagement again? As it turns out, this is rather complicated, and the two characters may have figured out a way to capture the heart of being married without actually having the status. Just take a look at what Jesse Spencer had to say on the subject to TVLine:

“In their hearts and minds, they are already married … They’re together. I don’t see them breaking up. I, as Jesse, would be traumatized if they had to break up at this point. I’m a big [‘Dawsey’] shipper. But the actual marriage is inconsequential.”

Spencer also added that if the two were married, she would have to transfer over to another Firehouse, which is clearly not something that they want. Maybe this is something that could happen to them eventually, but for the sake of their relationship (and also the sake of the series), it does not appear as though this is happening anytime soon.
