‘Bates Motel’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Eureka,’ ‘General Hospital’ alum cast in significant role
Production on season 4 of A&E’s “Bates Motel” is continuing to go strong in preparation for a spring premiere, and we’re now hearing a thing or two more in regards to who will be joining the progressively-dark tale of Norman Bates’ descent into madness.
As first reported by Deadline, actress Jaime Ray Newman (“Eureka,” “General Hospital,” the short-lived ABC drama “Wicked City”) has been cast in a significant recurring role this season as Rebecca Hamilton, a former love of Romero (Nestor Carbonell) who is clearly still carrying some sort of candle for him, at least metaphorically. As for how she ends up shaking up things in the town of White Pine Bay, that remains to be seen.
What we do know is that “Bates Motel” is starting to get more into the homestretch of the series’ run, and there are many different loose threads that need to be tied up before the show moves towards what could be its inevitable conclusion. We assume that for season 4 Norman is closer to being the notorious killer than ever before, and he could spell trouble for anyone who stands in his way. Freddie Highmore continues to be one of the most-underrated actors working together, and we can’t wait to see what sort of power he brings to the role this time … even if we are slightly creeped-out and/or terrified in advance.
