‘Madam Secretary’ season 2, episode 11 spoilers: What’s next after shocking midseason finale?

The second season of “Madam Secretary” has focused on an ever-escalating conflict with Russia, and basically the entire trajectory of the story led to a huge shocker at the end of the midseason finale: An attack with a sniper and an explosion. Did someone die as a result of that? You’re going to have to wait to find out.

What we have for you below is at least confirmation that Elizabeth McCord will survive whatever happened … not that you really suspected anything else. She wasn’t going to go; after all, why in the world would the series opt to get rid of their leading lady? In the realm of things that make almost no sense at all, this is at the top of the list.

As for everyone else, we cannot really answer that question just yet. All that we can do for the time being is share the synopsis below for the January 10 return of the show entitled “Unity Node”:

“Elizabeth tries to salvage a peace deal with Russia after an unexpected turn of events threatens to dissolve the agreement. Also, Elizabeth gets dragged into dealing with an emergency situation aboard the International Space Station.”

Who imagined the International Space Station becoming such a part of the story now? It’s random, but doesn’t that also add a little bit to the fun? We like to think so. Maybe this is a signal that the show will be taking a few different twists and turns when we get into the next part of the season.
