Jared is a heel. If there is one thing that we’ve come to learn prior to the season finale of “Finding Carter” (which airs in two parts on Tuesday), it is that. This is a guy who has thrown Carter under the bus to the police, lied repeatedly about some of his actions, and also forced Ben Wallace to sell drugs for him or risk being turned over to the police.
So is there any way whatsoever that Carter should be an apology from him? No, and that is what the sneak peek below is really all about. In this, we have a chance to see Jared do his part to try to explain away some of what happened. He claimed that he borrowed money from some people to keep the bar alive before getting a chance to hire Carter, but these people decided in turn that they wanted more and more from him. They made him suffer, and they made his job increasingly difficult. Eventually, he did some of what he did just as a means to ensure his own survival.
Now, we do believe most of what he is saying here, but the reality in the end is that it doesn’t quite matter. His actions are still his actions, and for the most part they are deplorable. He still admits to ratting out Carter to the police, knowing that as a minor she would not get charged. This was a calculated risk on his part, but it shows where his priorities lie.
