Is ‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5, episode 12 new tonight on ABC? ‘Souls of the Departed’ teaser!

While there may be a new episode of “Quantico” coming on ABC Sunday night, we do come still bearing some bad news for all fans of “Once Upon a Time”: There is no new episode coming on the air. As a matter of fact, there is no new episode until the spring premiere on Sunday, March 6. (Yes, we know that it is not technically “spring” as of this date, but isn’t it close enough?)

The tease below for “Souls of the Departed” comes to us via the Twitter account of executive producer Adam Horowitz, and it is based for the most part around just one word from Regina Mills: “…Me?”. She’s obviously surprised about someone calling her out, and is therefore questioning whether or not she is the right person for the job. Maybe it’s a moment of self-doubt, maybe it’s a moment of surprise, or maybe we are just giving this one word too much analysis.

The one thing that we hope for above all else is that the second part of the season, which supposedly will revolve around the underworld, could have a little more narrative consistency throughout. All of the time jumps in the first half were sometimes confusing, and we also feel like the Dark Swan was never quite the force of darkness that we imagined that she would be given all of the warnings we had heard about Emma’s capacity for evil.

This second half of the season will contain 11 more episodes, and the likes of Barbara Hershey, Robbie Kay, and Victoria Smurfit have all been confirmed to return in some capacity.
