‘Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance’ finale: Who is likely to play for a third time?
Wednesday night marks the finale of “Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance,” and it is a little bit of a tradition for us to go through the cast list and ponder over who could be returning to the game for another season. This time around, it’s a little different since we’ve already got a full roster of returning players. Our question instead is a fairly simple one: Who out of these people is the most likely to return for a third season? It may be a while before we get some sort of Legends / All-Star season, but it’s never too early to start the speculation.
In general, we know getting people to return for a third time can be difficult. We do know that with some people, timing and other circumstances may be a concern; the people we’re including here are the the people we think have at least a shot of coming back. We’re going ahead and ruling out people like Monica Padilla and Stephen Fishbach, who have both said openly that they have no interest interest in coming back.
Locks to be asked back
Joe Anglim – The show adores him, and casual fans go berserk over him. He’s like a more likable Ozzy and Colby rolled into one person.
Spencer Bledsoe – People loved him in “Cagayan” because he was the ultimate underdog. He’s been more in the driver’s seat at times this season, and what we’ve gotten a chance to see is that he’s an even better player than we realized.
Strong candidates
Ciera Eastin – Jeff Probst loves her, and it’s easy to root for anyone who wants to play as hard as she does. We also love that even after this experience and the brutal rainfall, she’s still interested in doing it all over again.
Kelley Wentworth – A win would probably cause her to be moved up to a lock to be asked back. We feel like she’s made great moves, given entertaining confessionals, and really proven that she was worthy of inclusion despite being an early boot in her first season.
Jeremy Collins – Similar to Kelley in that a win would probably increase his chances significantly. He’s very likable, and has played a game that we would consider to be very similar to a Tom Westman so far this season. He hasn’t made too many shocking strategic moves, but has rallied so many people around him that he hasn’t had to.
Possible candidates in the right situation
Shirin Oskooi – Extremely early boot this season, but still a big character and someone we think the show would love to have back out there again if the right twist for a season comes along.
Jeff Varner – Confessional god through four episodes. Incredibly entertaining. He’s in a similar position to Shirin in how he would need a Blood vs. Water or some other twist to get another go.
Terry Deitz – He told us earlier this season that provided his son Danny’s health is properly taken care of, he would love to go back and get another shot.
Tasha Fox – She’s got a solid chance of returning if she wins, but otherwise we don’t see so much what else she would bring to the table.
Kass McQuillen – We put her here as a massive Kass fan, even if she seems content with ending her “Survivor” career after two seasons.
We suppose that there are situations we could see the show looking at Abi-Maria or Keith as contenders once more, but is there anything else that they would really give to the show that they haven’t already in terms of entertainment?
