‘Shameless’ season 6 spoilers: First look at premiere episode!

Let’s start this “Shameless” article with the bad news: You’re going to be waiting for a while still for more new episodes to come on the air. Specifically, the show returns to Showtime on January 10, and we’ve got some of the first details regarding the first episode that are coming on the air below.

Let’s start here by noting that the following bit of scoop comes courtesy of SpoilerTV and Showtime. There are some spoilers ahead, so be warned.

6×01, “I Only Miss Her When I’m Breathing” (January 10) – “It’s fall in Chicago. Frank is still mourning the loss of Bianca while his newfound appreciation for life is freaking the Gallaghers out. Fiona is determined to get Debbie to the clinic for a pregnancy test and to get Ian to take his meds.”

Ultimately, this episode  sound like typical “Shameless” installments, stuffed to the brim with controversy, drama, comedy, and the Gallagher family routinely failing to get themselves together. Also, Debbie remains the character who is probably going to have the most going on in the early part of the season, judging from the fact that we’re going through the whole story regarding a potential pregnancy.

The challenge for any show entering its sixth season is to try and keep things fresh, and we feel like with this particular cast and crew, they may be a little bit better-equipped to do this than some other series out there. There’s no form that “Shameless” has to adhere to, and it can simply be as out-there and wacky as it wants to be.
