‘The Blacklist’ season 3 spoilers: On Ressler, Samar, and the aftermath

The Blacklist logo any seasonThere are not too many situations that “The Blacklist” really looks at a romantic love triangle, but we’ve got one in a sense now with Ressler, Samar, and Aram. Sure, the feelings aren’t spread out across the characters in a perfect fashion here, but the feelings are still there and that’s something that you have to be aware of.

What Ressler and Samar may not have thought about in the moment that they hooked up recently is what the long-term repercussions of that move would be. Feelings will be hurt, Samar’s job situation is in crisis, and there are also issues of professionalism to throw in here, as well. In teasing the future of this story a little bit to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Jon Bokenkamp had the following message to pass along:

“That hasn’t quite played out yet … That is something that’s going to linger over them and haunt them. The fallout from that will continue to ripple for a while.”

Given that these are not characters who tend to find themselves commonly in the spotlight, these may also be situations to take a little bit of time in order to make themselves fully clear in the story. We know that in particular the show’s return in January is going to revolve heavily around the Cabal, and whether or not it is going to be really possible for Ressler to keep Liz Keen protected within a holding cell. Let’s just say that Red is going to find a way to get involved.
