‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: What Che Chesterman, Louisa Johnson, Lauren Murray are singing
The following choices were announced by ITV, and they range from “interesting” to “not even remotely interesting.”
Che Chesterman
“Would I Lie To You?” by Charles and Eddie – Really odd song. It’s dated, but at least it’s not the most overdone one we’ve ever seen.
“Love Is a Losing Game” by Amy Winehouse – At least it’s something different, right? We’re not crazy about Che’s two songs, but they’re a little more unexpected than what we’ve seen in the past.
Lauren Murray
“Runnin’ (Lose It All)” by Naughty Boy ft. Beyonce and Arrow Benjamin – Extremely current and daring. Lauren is clearly doing what she can to give herself a shot at winning the show.
“Take Me Home” by Jess Glynne – As we said, love her choices. Lauren is at least doing what she can to prove herself as marketable in the real world. Regardless of if she wins this show, she’s going to be just fine.
Louisa Johnson
“The Power Of Love” by Frankie Goes To Hollywood – Take away some of the negative feelings towards James Arthur, but his performance of this song is one of the best ones we’ve seen on the show in the post-One Direction era. Louisa has her work cut out for her.
“It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World” by James Brown – BURN THIS SONG FOREVER. We’re so tired of it, since we’ve heard it virtually on every singing show in every country for the past ten years. It should go away with “I Have Nothing” and “Against All Odds.”
Reggie ‘N’ Bollie
“Locked Away” by R City Ft. Adam Levine – We’re not sure how it will work just yet, but we like the idea of them trying something this current.
“I Gotta Feeling / I Like To Move It” by Black Eyed Peas / Reel 2 Real – We’ll wait to see how they do with this song, but we actually think they would’ve been great to just go ahead and do “I Gotta Feeling” and that’s it. It’s a perfect song for them and a little different than anything they’ve done so far.
